Nunavik Interest Towards Clean Energy Transition Take the survey now!

Aupaluk is the smallest community in Nunavik, with a population of 250. The town is located 1,900 km north of Montreal on the western shore of Ungava Bay. Aupaluk means “where the earth is red” in Inuktitut, a reference to the iron-rich soil of the region.

The community of Aupaluk is interested in learning more about renewable energy solutions to reimagine a future without diesel. In the coming years, Tarquti  in partnership with the local Co-op and the Landholding will engage with local entities to create a Community Energy Plan and build an Energy Team to develop renewable energy projects.
