Nunavik Interest Towards Clean Energy Transition Take the survey now!

Akulivik

Akulivik is a community of 515 souls that takes its name from the geography that surrounds it. Located 1,900 kilometres north of Montreal on a peninsula, Akulivik is nested between two bodies of water along the Hudson Bay, giving it a “kakivak”-like look (a trident-shaped spear used for fishing).

The community of Akulivik is interested in learning more about renewable energy solutions to reimagine a future without diesel. In the coming years, Tarquti  in partnership with the local Co-op and the Landholding will engage with local entities to create a Community Energy Plan and build an Energy Team to develop renewable energy projects.
